Homeless Man Stabbed To Death On Sherman Oaks Street

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA) – Police are investigating the stabbing death of a 35-year-old man late Thursday night in Sherman Oaks.

Los Angeles police responded to the 15200 block of Burbank Boulevard where they found the man dead on the sidewalk from multiple stab wounds.

The victim's name was not immediately released.

Witness heard screams coming from the area prior to the victim being found, police said. The crime scene is located a few blocks from the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, which is known for having multiple homeless encampments which the L.A. city crews have been working to clean-up since January.

With the coronavirus pandemic spreading in the region, there has been an increased urgency to ensure the health and safety of L.A.'s large homeless population.

Police do not yet have a motive in the killing or any suspect information.
