Man Stabbed, Struck By Vehicle During Lancaster Carjacking

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man in his 30s was in critical condition after being stabbed repeatedly and struck by his own vehicle in Lancaster during an apparent carjacking on Friday evening.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a written statement that deputies responded to the 43000 block of 7th Street East following a report of a person screaming just before 11 p.m.

When they arrived, they found the victim who told authorities that a man attempted to rob him at knife point before ordering him to slide over to the passenger seat of his car.

The victim complied, and the suspect drove off.

"After a short distance, the victim exited the vehicle and the suspect struck the victim with the vehicle," according to the statement.

At that point, authorities said the suspect exited the car, and allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest several times.

Deputies said the suspect fled in the victim's car but crashed a short distance away. He then reportedly fled on foot.

The suspect -- now wanted for carjacking, kidnapping and attempted murder -- was described by authorities as a Black man.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery.

Anyone with information about this case was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Lancaster Station at (661) 948-8466.
