Man Sought In Attempted Sexual Assault Of UCLA Student

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Thursday sought the public's help to locate a man who attempted to sexually assault a UCLA student.

According to the UCLA Police Department, a female student was jogging in the area of Veteran Avenue, south of Sunset Boulevard, around 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday when an unknown man grabbed her from behind.

The victim reported the suspect had a knife, and attempted to sexually assault her. She was able to escape with minor injuries.

Detectives described the suspect as a man who has a medium to large build, and stands 6-feet-tall. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with black pants.

Police said no vehicle was seen in the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
