Shooting near Metro platform in Hyde Park leaves one man dead

A man died after he was shot on a walkway leading to a Metro platform in the Hyde Park area on Saturday afternoon. 

The man was arguing with a group of people prior to the shooting, which happened just before 12:45 p.m. near Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Police Department. 

Paramedics took the man, believed to be in his late 30s, to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators say that the male suspect is between 25 and 30 years old. 

Metro Hyde Park Station closed while police conducted their investigation and reopened around 8:30 p.m.
