Man Killed In Attempted Robbery, Shooting At San Jacinto Smoke Shop

SAN JACINTO (CBSLA) — A shooter is at large Thursday after killing a man during an attempted robbery at a smoke shop in San Jacinto.

The robbery was reported at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at Top Smoke Shop, 2335 S. San Jacinto Ave. The first deputies on the scene found a man with gunshot wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He reportedly owned the smoke shop and sold it, but continued to work there. Friends and family who came to the scene hours after the shooting to leave flowers and candles identified him as Mike Muhammad.

"I don't know what to say, I'm just beside myself. I can't believe it," customer Tracy Sullivan said.

There was no suspect information immediately available.
