Armed Man Running Away From Traffic Stop Shot, Wounded By Police In Pasadena

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police shot and wounded an armed man who ran from the scene of a traffic stop, then fired at an officer Friday, officials said.

The shooting happened about 9:15 a.m. in the general area of Buckeye Street and North Los Robles Avenue, according to the Pasadena Police Department. No officers were injured.

The suspect was injured and taken to a local hospital, but his condition is unknown, sheriff's officials said.

Sheriff's detectives were assisting Pasadena police in the investigation.

The officers were reportedly trying to stop a car for suspicious activity happening inside prior to the shooting.

Sheriff's Lt. Steve Jauch said the suspect fired at the officer, who returned fire. The officer was not injured.

The intersection of Los Robles Avenue and Jackson Street was closed to traffic during the investigation.
