Man, 25, Reportedly Shot To Death In Echo Park Neighborhood

ECHO PARK (CBSLA.com)  —  Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a man early Saturday morning in an Echo Park neighborhood.

The Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast station would only confirm that a homicide occurred. They released no further details.

A representative from the coroner's office arrived at the scene in the 1500 block of North Echo Park Avenue at 7 a.m., according to Lt. Dave Smith of the coroner's office.

Paramedics were dispatched to the location for a reported shooting call at 2:55 a.m., but transported no one to an area hospital, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Saturday afternoon, City News Service reported the unidentified victim was 25-year-old and was shot in the head. Police also told CNS they had no suspect information or motive.
