Man Killed In Redondo Beach Shooting That Left Another Wounded

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities were investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old man Thursday that unfolded in a crosswalk in Redondo Beach.

A second person has been hospitalized following the deadly confrontation near Marine and Inglewood avenues about 4 p.m.

It was there police say two men were fighting, when a third came to help one of them. The one who was outnumbered shot the other two, authorities said.

A man, who didn't want to be identified, said he heard seven gunshots.

"I immediately looked out my window and just all I could see was someone on the ground and someone crossing the intersection on a skateboard," he said.

Police said the suspect, who looked to be in his late teens, fled on a skateboard that was later recovered in a nearby gutter.

It's unclear at this point whether the men knew each other and why they were fighting, police said.
