Man Killed, Woman Wounded In Gardena Shooting

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) – A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting in Gardena early Tuesday morning.

The shooting was reported just before 2:30 a.m. in the 14800 block of South Spring Street.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a man and woman were having a conversation when a vehicle pulled up across the street, a male suspect exited and opened fire on the two victims. Deputies responded to find a man in his 50s with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Shortly after, a woman in her 40s arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the hip that deputies learned she had sustained in the same Gardena incident, LASD reports. She was in stable condition.

There was no description of the suspect or a motive in the shooting. How the woman arrived at the hospital was also unclear. No names were released.
