Man Killed, Another Critically Hurt During Car Crash In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A 21-year-old man was killed and another man was critically injured in a possible DUI crash in Anaheim, authorities reported.

The incident occurred at 10:51 p.m. Friday on Canyon Rim, west of Via Corral, according to the Orange County Coroner's Office.

Passenger Christopher Tschann, of Yorba Linda, died when the vehicle collided with a tree, Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said.

Paramedics rushed the driver to UCI Medical Center in critical condition, Schmidt said. He has not yet been identified.

Detectives say they suspect speed and alcohol played a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
