Man Killed After Rear-Ending Big-Rig On NB 405

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A man was killed on the northbound 405 Freeway early Saturday when his pickup truck rear-ended a big-rig and caught fire.

California Highway Patrol officers say the victim was driving a 2007 GMC and collided with a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer near Ventura Boulevard at 12:55 a.m., reports City News Service.

The GMC then struck the center divider before coming to a stop.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 61-year-old male, suffered minor injuries, according to CHP.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
