Man Killed After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Semi-Tractor Trailer In O.C.

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man was killed Friday after his pickup truck crashed into a parked semi-tractor trailer in northern Orange County.

Garden Grove police were dispatched to the fatal collision about 11:28 a.m. at Brookhurst Street and Hazard Avenue.

When they arrived on scene, police found an older-model white Chevy pickup truck that was wedged underneath the rear portion of the semi-tractor, according to a department statement.

The driver of the pickup truck, described only as a man, was trapped inside his vehicle, according to the statement. He died at the scene.

The statement says that the pickup truck was traveling westbound on Hazard Avenue at the time of the collision.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
