Man Injured In Gardena Officer-Involved Shooting

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — A man was wounded by officers responding to a burglary call in a Gardena neighborhood Monday, and a second man was taken into custody.

The officer-involved shooting happened in the 15500 block of Ruthelen Avenue at 12:20 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Crystal Hernandez said.

She said sheriff's detectives were helping Gardena police investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.

No deputies were injured.

The suspects were not immediately identified, and the condition on the injured man, who was taken to a hospital, was not known.
