Man Injured During Drive-By Shooting In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday investigated the circumstances surrounding a shooting that injured a man in Compton.

Around 1:15 a.m., deputies were sent to Alameda and Cedar streets for report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, according to the Sheriff's Compton Station.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital. His condition remains unknown at this time.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim walked down Alameda Street with another man when a car pulled up and fired several rounds at them.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation as it remains unclear if the incident was gang-related.
