Man in critical condition following house fire in Fairfax

Person critically injured after fire breaks out in Fairfax bungalow

A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a fire broke out inside of a bungalow home in the Fairfax area on Sunday afternoon. 

It was reported at around 2 p.m. in the 800 block of N. Martel Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. 

Firefighters arrived to find smoke showing from one unit located in a row of bungalows. They were able to quickly extinguish the flames in just over 15 minutes and prevented it from spreading to other dwellings. 

One victim, only identified as a man, was found inside of the home. They say that he suffered from respiratory arrest and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was in critical condition. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
