Man Struck By Metro Red Line Train In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man has been rescued after being trapped underneath a Metro Red Line train in Hollywood.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said the man was removed from beneath the train and was transported to an area hospital. Humphrey also indicated that the man was conscious and responsive.

The incident happened Friday afternoon at the subway station in the 6900 block of Hollywood Boulevard.

"We just heard on the scanner just moments ago that they did free that person. They're working with him now. He does have injuries but is alive," reported CBS2's Stu Mundel shortly after 5 p.m.

Mundel reported that there was a second victim, described by authorities as a preteen, was being treated for possible anxiety-related symptoms.
