Man Goes On Window-Breaking Rampage At Alhambra Courthouse

ALHAMBRA (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities say a man smashed nearly 30 windows Saturday in a rampage at the Alhambra courthouse.

The incident was reported just before 3:30 p.m. at 150 W. Commonwealth Ave., said Alhambra Police Lt. Jennifer Wiese.

The lieutenant told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that the unidentified vandal broke 27 large -- 3-foot by 12-foot -- windows because he was upset over a court case.

The man reportedly said he was also hearing voices.

Officers from the police station across the street subdued the man.

The suspect was then taken in for a psychiatric evaluation and treatment of cuts to his arms. He faces felony vandalism charges for breaking the windows worth thousands of dollars, Wiese told the newspaper.
