Man Found Shot To Death In Norwalk

NORWALK (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives are investigating a deadly shooting in Norwalk.

The shooting was reported at 3:45 a.m. in the 16500 block of Horst Avenue, sheriff's spokeswoman Deputy Caroline Rodriguez said.

The man was driving north on Horst Avenue, from 166th Street, when several shots were fired into his car, Rodriguez said. It's not known if the gunman was on foot or in another vehicle.

The victim's car crashed into a parked vehicle. The victim, described as a Hispanic man, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest area and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives say the incident was believed to be gang related, but no suspect information was available.
