Man Found Guilty Of Murdering 2 Whose Bodies Were Found In Chatsworth

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 46-year-old man was found guilty Tuesday of murdering two people whose decomposed bodies were found in Chatsworth.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said in a written statement that Brent Darrin Zubek was found guilty of nine felony charges in the case.

The statement said jurors deliberated for five days before reaching their verdict.

Prosecutors said the bodies of John David Lee, 40, and Oletta Jean Williams, 28, were found on Aug. 12, 2011 behind the home the three had shared.

Both Lee and Williams had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities said they had been dead for about six weeks before their bodies were found.

Police arrested Zubek 10 days later.

Prosecutors have decided not to seek the death penalty in the case.

When sentenced, Zubek is expected to face life in prison without the possibility of parole plus nine life terms, according to the statement.

He will return to court Feb. 11 for a hearing.
