Man found stabbed to death on East Los Angeles basketball court
A man was found dead on a basketball court in East Los Angeles Thursday morning.
Homicide detectives were called to the basketball courts behind Nueva Maravilla Housing Community, 4919 E. Cesar Chavez Ave., at about 4:55 a.m. A man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Sky 2 was over the bloody scene, which was in the middle of the court. Authorities referred to the victim as a man, but described him as being between 15 and 20 years old.
A weapon was not found at the scene. Authorities did not have a description of a suspect or suspect vehicle.
It's not known if the incident is gang related.
On Friday, LASD detectives asked for public assistance in locating a pair of people seen walking away from the area moments after they suspected the murder took place.
