Driver Flees Into Bakersfield Backyard After Being Shot Several Times, Crashing Into Fence

BAKERSFIELD (CBSLA.com) — Deputies dispatched Friday to a report of a shooting victim found an abandoned vehicle crashed into a fence in Bakersfield.

The call was made at 7:30 a.m. with deputies responding to an alley in the 1000 block of Flower Street, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies soon located a man in a nearby backyard suffering several gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a hospital. His condition was not specified.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made.
