Suspect Arrested In Anaheim Fatal Stabbing

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old man Monday was in custody in connection with a fatal stabbing in Orange County.

Deputies responded just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday to the area of Cerritos Avenue and Perdido Street in unincorporated Anaheim, the OC Sheriff's Department said.

When the arrived they found an unidentified man lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Deputies performed CPR at the scene before the 52-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital where he died.

Ruben Martinez was detained at the scene and later arrested. Based on preliminary investigation, the victim was stabbed during an altercation with Martinez. It was unclear if the men knew each other or what caused the dispute.

Martinez was being held on $1 million and will appear in court Tuesday.
