Man Fatally Shot Outside PREMIERE Supper Club In Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — LAPD detectives Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding a shooting outside a popular nightclub in Hollywood.

The incident happened just outside the PREMIERE Supper Club in the 1700 block of N. Las Palmas Avenue.

Police said the victim, described as a 38-year-old man, was shot around closing time early Sunday.

"A black four-door sedan approached a group of people. Fired a couple of shots. One person was shot in the torso. [He] was rushed to a local hospital but unfortunately [he] didn't make it," LAPD Lt. John Radtke told KNX 1070's Ed Mertz.

The suspect reportedly drove off with three or four others inside the car after firing the shot, authorities said.

Police said the shooting may have been the result of an altercation that happened inside the venue.

Lt. Radtke said the shooting was believed to be gang-related.

"These were gangs that do not frequent Hollywood. They claim turf outside of this area," he said.

No arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, police were combing through surveillance video and asked that those with more information come forward.
