Man Fatally Shot On Compton Street; Probe Underway

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Authorities in Compton said a man died Friday of a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Deputies responding to a call regarding a gunshot wound victim discovered the deceased Black male, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) said in a news release.

The incident in the 500 block of West Compton Boulevard was reported about 1:28 p.m.

Homicide detectives with the LASD are investigating. A suspect description has not been provided.
