Man Fatally Shot In Unincorporated LA

LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement that the victim, described as an adult male, was fatally wounded about 10 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies responded to the 8700 block of Holmes Avenue for an "assault with a deadly weapon" call. Upon arriving on scene, they located the victim, who had been shot once in the upper torso.

The unidentified man was taken to St. Francis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No further information was provided.
