2 Arrested In Connection With Shooting Death Of Pico Rivera Man

PICO RIVERA (CBSLA.com) — A man and woman were arrested Friday in connection with the shooting death of a 26-year-old Pico Rivera man.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Vincent Rodriguez, 28, and Mary Bedolla, 47, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies were sent to the area of Whittier Boulevard and Acacia Avenue for report of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a man lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he later died. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

According to witnesses, the victim walked with Rodriguez and Bedolla on Acacia Avenue prior to the shooting.

"The two males were involved in a verbal altercation," said Deputy Ryan Rouzan. "During the altercation the suspect shot the victim with a handgun. The suspects then walked away, west on Whittier Boulevard."

Authorities recovered a black handgun nearby in a trash can.

According to police, Rodriguez and Bedolla are being held on $1 million bail at the Pico Rivera Station.

The investigation is ongoing.
