Man Fatally Shot In Officer-Involved Shooting In San Fernando

SAN FERNANDO (CBSLA) — A fatal officer-involved shooting on Harps and Fourth Streets last night just before 11 o'clock is being investigated.

Authorities say that they received a call about shots being fired in the area. When police arrived, they found the suspect inside of a car. They say the 48-year-old man was uncooperative and opened fire on the officers. Police returned fire, killing him.

Raul Alberto, who lives nearby, told CBSLA that he heard what he thought were fireworks because the Dodgers won. He didn't think there was a problem, but later saw that there was a police presence.

No officers were hurt during the incident.
