Man Enters Not Guilty Plea In Stabbing Death Of 6-Year-Old Son

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A South Los Angeles father accused of fatally stabbing his 6-year-old son pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.

Alejandro Sanchez, 38, appeared before a judge for his arraignment in downtown Los Angeles.

Prosecutors allege Sanchez killed his son, Nathan, in his trailer in Florence around midnight Sept. 18.

The crime happened in the 1600 block of 88th Street near the corner of Compton Avenue, authorities said.

The child was transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where he died.

Sanchez was being held in lieu of more than $1 million in bail.

His next court date has been scheduled for November.
