Man Dies Following Fight At Palmdale Basketball Game

PALMDALE (AP) — Los Angeles County authorities say a man who got into a fist fight during a basketball game in Palmdale has died of his injuries and two men have been detained in connection with his death.

City News Service reports the man staggered down the block following the fight Saturday. He collapsed and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.

Sheriff's Deputy Crystal Hernandez says the death resulted from an argument among a group of men gathered for the game that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Hernandez says two men have been detained, but no arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation.
