Man Dies After Fire Rips Through San Juan Capistrano Home

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBS/AP) — Orange County authorities say a man in his 50s has died from injuries suffered when fire ripped through a home in San Juan Capistrano.

County Fire Authority Captain Steve Concialdi says crews responding Tuesday evening found the man crouched on a floor inside the home in the 29000 block of Edgewood Road.

Concialdi says firefighters carried the man outside but he died at the scene from burns and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Concialdi says a cat found unresponsive inside the house was breathing again after being revived with a pet oxygen mask.
