Man, 59, Pleads Not Guilty To Pulling Gun On Girl Scout

TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — A 59-year-old Temecula man was charged with assault with a deadly weapon Wednesday after allegedly pulling a gun on a Girl Scout who was going door-to-door selling cookies.

John Michael Dodrill pleaded not guilty in connection to the incident that took place around 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 31000 block of Strawberry Tree Lane.

The victim was reportedly going door-to-door to sell Girl Scout cookies to raise funds for her troop when Dodrill leveled a gun at her, officials said.

The girl's father witnessed the alleged incident and immediately called police, according to authorities.

Dodrill, whose weapon was seized as evidence, was taken into custody without incident and was being held on $25,000 bail, officials said.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 14.
