LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Newbury Park man has been charged in connection with the burglary of Miley Cyrus' Toluca Lake home last month.

Rusty Edward Sellner pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, and grand theft, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office said in a written statement.

The 22-year-old is accused of breaking into the pop star's home on Dec. 16 and making off with property belonging to Cyrus and her brother, prosecutors said.

Sellner is expected to back in court Jan. 20 for a preliminary hearing.

He faces a maximum term of more than seven years behind bars, if convicted as charged.
