Man Booked In Connection With Fatal Stabbing Of Son, 1

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 29-year-old man has been booked on a charge of homicide in the fatal stabbing of his 1-year-old son.

Ventura police say Adrian Navarrete-Gonzalez was transported to Ventura County Jail about 3:45 p.m. Monday after being discharged from Ventura County Medical Center.

Police said Navarrete-Gonzalez sustained stab wounds to the upper torso after the Jan. 2 stabbing of Jacob Navarrete, who was found at a home in Ventura suffering of a stab wound.

The child, who had been visiting the suspect at the home on Crocker Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Navarrete-Gonzalez was transported to the hospital and underwent surgery. Police said investigators took custody of the suspect Monday afternoon after he was medically discharged.
