Man Beaten In Angel Stadium Parking Lot Identified As Former LAPD Officer, Marine

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — The Angels fan who was beaten in the Angel Stadium parking lot has been identified by family as a former LAPD officer and Marine.

Alex Arrendondo, an Orange County resident, has been upgraded from to serious from critical condition after being assaulted in the parking lot Friday, Anaheim police said Monday.

The 43-year-old reportedly was beaten by three males around 10:30 p.m. after walking back to his vehicle from the game.

Several witnesses flagged down police patrolling the stadium to report a fight and a man lying unresponsive in the parking lot.

When they arrived, they found Arrendondo unconscious on the pavement.

Police said he was injured in a fistfight, and no ,weapons appeared to have been used in the attack.

Investigators are searching for a motive and the suspects.

Police said the suspects, when caught, will face felony assault charges.
