Man Barricaded Inside Home In Koreatown Threatens To Burn It Down

KOREATOWN (CBSLA.com) — A man barricaded inside a home in Koreatown reportedly told family members he would burn it down.

The situation is unfolding in the 800 block of Hobart Avenue.

A SWAT team is on scene.

Just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, officers received a 911 call from the location.

When police arrived family members reported that they were dealing with a man with mental illness who was threatening to destroy the property.

Family said the unidentified man was holed up in a bedroom with a sword and hammer.

Police have not reported any verbal contact with the suspect.

It was unclear what the relationship of the suspect was to the family.
