Man Attempts To Make Off With ATM Using Forklift He Allegedly Stole Outside Target Store

SANTA FE SPRINGS (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities say a man attempted to make off with an ATM Sunday using a stolen forklift.

He ended up leaving the forklift and ATM behind.

The strange crime took place in the parking lot of a Target store in Santa Fe Springs, officials said.

The unidentified man stole the forklift from the Lawn and Garden Department at the Target.

Police said he then attempted to move and make off with the ATM.

The man fled in a Honda before police arrived on scene.

Authorities on Sunday evening released a picture of the suspect taken from store security video.
