Man Jumps To His Death From Atop The Dolby Theater At The Hollywood And Highland Complex

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA) -  At around 2 p.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a man jumped to his death from atop the Dolby Theater at the Hollywood & Highland Entertainment and shopping complex.

The incident occurred after five hours of first responders, including LAFD, police officers and mental health professionals attempting to coax the man down from a precarious position some 60-feet above street level.

"...sadly, he jumped and plummeted to his death in an area where LAFD's rescue air cushion was not able to access. LAFD firefighter-paramedics were on the scene to render aid, if necessary, but the man was beyond medical help," fire officials wrote in an alert.

Crews have cleared the scene.

Mental health services are available 24-hours day, including a warm-line where those in need can simply speak to a trained listener, the Los Angeles County Department Mental Health.
