Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Robbing Bank In OC

LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — Deputies on Friday announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man suspected of robbing a bank in Orange County.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Nicholas Daniel Otte, of Laguna Hills, was arrested on suspicion of robbery as he exited Bank of America on Thursday.

Shortly after 5 p.m., deputies were sent to the 30100 block of Crown Valley Parkway for report of a robbery in progress.

Upon their arrival, authorities established a perimeter around the bank.

A description provided by bank employees resulted in Otte's arrest as he attempted to leave the area on foot.

A preliminary investigation revealed he entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

However, bank employees said no cash was handed over before Otte exited the bank.

Officers said no weapon was seen or recovered at the scene.

According to investigators, he is not connected to any other robberies in the area.

Otte is being held on $250,000 at the Orange County Jail.

He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
