Man Arrested On Charges Of Trying To Kill 2 Police Officers In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Santa Ana man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police say he fired several shots at officers.

According to police, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on South Hesperian Street at 4:43 p.m. Saturday. When they got there, police say Oscar Freddie Torres, 19, fired several shots at the officers. The officers did not return fire and no one was wounded.

Police say Torres ran away and was later taken into custody, along with a pistol.

Torres was booked into the Santa Ana Jail on charges of attempted murder against two police officers.

According to police, Torres is a self-admitted/documented gang member.

Detectives plan to file gang enhancement charges against Torres.
