SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A man was taken into custody Monday on suspicion of kidnapping an 2-year-old girl at knifepoint at a Santa Clarita mobile-home park, authorities said.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies said the girl was taken from her grandparents at their home in the park in the 12700 block of Sierra Highway about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The grandparents called the Sheriff's Department, and deputies quickly arrived to find the toddler with the man at another residence.

The girl was taken to a hospital as a precaution and reportedly was unharmed.

Deputies are unclear on whether the man lived in the mobile-home park.
