Man Arrested For Stealing Christmas Tree From Glendale Parking Lot

GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — Glendale police may have caught the Grinch that stole Christmas after they arrested a man for stealing a Christmas tree.

Raffi Varosyan, 22, of Glendale was arrested Tuesday for stealing a 7-foot fake tree, decorated with "red, silver and green ornaments," from a parking lot in the 400 block of N. Brand Boulevard, police said.

Varosyan and his two friends were caught late Monday morning on surveillance camera loading the tree into the back of a Jaguar, before the two accomplices fled.

Police later traced the vehicle's license plate to Varosyan and arrested him for grand theft.

"The identity of the other two males and the whereabouts of the tree are still under investigation by detectives," police said.

The tree and its decorations are valued at $1,000.
