Man Arrested In Battery, Attempted Kidnapping In Irvine

IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Police arrested a Temecula man on suspicion of sexual battery and trying to abduct a female at an Irvine shopping center Tuesday.

Thomas Ditto, 25, was taken into custody at about 3:15 p.m.

The arrest came five hours after someone reported that a female had been assaulted inside a parking structure at the Irvine Spectrum, according to Irvine police Cmdr. Mike Hallinan.

When officers arrived, Ditto had already taken off in a car. They later tracked him down in Lake Elsinore.
