Man Allegedly Stabs Father Before Barricading Himself Inside Littlerock Home

LITTLEROCK (CBSLA.com) — Deputies with the Palmdale Sheriff's Station responded to a call regarding people fighting early Sunday morning and discovered a male victim with stab wounds.

Officials believed the man was cut and stabbed by his son.

The suspect was in the home's front yard when deputies arrived -- about 1:35 in the morning --  refused instructions to stay put and fled into the home.

The Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) also responded to the home in the 11200 block of East Avenue R-8.

Palmdale Station personnel deployed an armored vehicle to the scene and evacuated neighboring homes. A search warrant was also obtained for the home.

At 8:10 a.m., CNT personnel established communication with the suspect -- identified as 30-year-old Cesar Jovany Linares -- and convinced him to exit the location. The suspect left the house about 25 minutes later.

Linares was booked at Palmdale Station for assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing/delaying peace officers.

The suspect is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail and is due to appear in court on Tuesday at Antelope Valley Courthouse.

The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.
