Man Accused Of Causing Deadly Crash In Commerce Has History Of Driving Fast
WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — The man accused of racing on I-5 and setting off a fiery chain-reaction crash that killed three people in Commerce over the weekend has a history of driving too fast.
We found a picture of Dealio Lockhart, 35, on StaffMeUp.
Irene Nino De Rivera says Lockhart is her neighbor. "We didn't think this type of thing could happen. We're very sad to hear that this is happening to him and whoever is involved with him, like his family."
The California Highway Patrol says Lockhart admitted to racing against a Dodge Charger in his Challenger. The driver of the Dodge got away. But neighbors recognized Lockhart's Challenger in news reports.
Lockhart is being held on $1 million bail. According to the Department of Motor Vehicle, Lockhart was cited for speeding in Utah in 2014 and in San Bernardino County in 2012. He did have a valid driver's license.
College student Tony Miramontes remains in a coma. His friends, Michelle Littlefield and Brian Lewandowsk, died along with UPS driver Scott Treadway.
