Man Accused In Irvine Residential Burglaries Arrested

ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with two residential burglaries allegedly committed in Irvine.

According to the Irvine Police Department, Bishoy Fahmy of Castaic was arrested in Los Angeles County shortly after leaving a pawn shop.

Officers said around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, a resident in a neighborhood near Jamboree Road and Portola Parkway heard glass breaking and observed a suspicious vehicle near a neighbor's home.

Fahmy was allegedly seen leaving the victim's home. He is believed to have committed two residential burglaries by smashing windows and entering unoccupied homes in the area.

The witness reported the vehicle's license plate number to police, which is how officers led to the arrest of Fahmy.

Stolen items from the burglary, including jewelry, were recovered, police said.

Fahmy is on probation in Los Angeles County stemming from a weapons violation.

Following his arrest, officers said two loaded firearms were located in his home.
