Man, 88, Fatally Struck By Bus After Falling Into Vehicle's Path
POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said an 88-year-old man was fatally struck and run over by a bus in Pomona Friday morning.
The bus was traveling north on Reservoir Street, approaching a transit stop north of Phillips Boulevard, when the man tripped and fell into the roadway, suffering fatal injuries from the bus tires, according to Cpl. Alyssa Bostrom.
Pomona police officers responded about 10 a.m., and the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared the man dead at the scene.
The bus driver was properly licensed and showed no signs of intoxication, Bostrom said.
