Man, 43, Arrested In Norwalk On Child Porn Charges

BELLFLOWER (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 43-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly uploading child pornography to the Internet.

Manuel Montes is being held on $500,000 bail pending his arraignment, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

Montes was arrested at a home in the city of Norwalk last Thursday morning which authorities allege had a "'trophy room' filled with young girls' items such as clothes, toys and children's books."

But the investigation began with detectives serving a search warrant at a Bellflower home.

There, investigators say they uncovered evidence that indicated that the suspect had been living in a home in an unincorporated area in the San Gabriel Valley, known as Bassett.

The statement said a second search warrant was served at the Bassett location, which allegedly provided, "overwhelming evidence of the suspect's possession, possible distribution and manufacture of child pornography."

Following the execution of the search warrant, authorities subsequently located Montes.

The statement says Montes is accused of uploading images of child pornography on at least two occasions and sexually abusing three female victims between the ages of 10 and 13.

Montes' case is expected to be presented to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Special Victims Bureau on Tuesday.

Anyone with more information about this case was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-LASD (5273).
