Man, 27, Reportedly In Critical Condition After Surfing Accident Amid Huge Waves

VENICE (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities said Thursday that a man was pulled out of the high surf in Venice without a pulse.

The unidentified victim, is reportedly in critical condition, officials said.

The 27-year-old was taken to a hospital around 6:05 p.m. after lifeguards tried to resuscitate him with CPR. The man regained a pulse in route to the hospital, said Erik Scott with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident occurred near the 2100 block of South Ocean Front Walk.

Area beaches have seen surf as high as 20 feet over the past two days caused by tropical storm Marie.
