Man, 25, Arrested For Riding Dirt Bike While Holding 13-Month-Old Son Without Proper Helmet

SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com)  —  Authorities in Simi Valley have arrested a 25-year-old man they said was riding a dirt bike while holding his 13-month-old son with neither wearing helmets.

Police said Joshua Parkinson was riding a 50cc minibike off-road on East Street while holding the toddler.

Neither the rider nor his passenger were wearing Department of Transportation approved helmets.

Police also said Parkinson, a Simi Valley resident, does not possess a valid motorcycle license.

Due to the extreme danger presented by this situation, police said, Parkinson was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment. His son was released to another adult. Parkinson was cited and released.
