Man, 23, Arrested For Fatal Stabbing Of Venice Father

VENICE (CBSLA.com) — A 23-year-old man was in custody Friday for the fatal stabbing of a father in Venice.

Jorge Nolasco, of Los Angeles, was arrested Thursday for the Nov. 18 murder of 24-year-old Guillermo Carmona-Perez.

Perez, who was engaged, was found stabbed in the chest near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Pacific Avenue around 12:15 a.m.

Investigators believe Carmona-Perez, who worked two jobs as a cook, left work, stopped for a pack of beer and was walking down Washington Boulevard toward his home at the time of the attack.

The father of a 13-month-old son was transferred to UCLA Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Nolasco was being held on $1 million bail.
